change over time, and it is important to stay
up to date on these.

Experience
Prerequisites
Previous
office experience is helpful, and many Insurance
Claims Clerks start out as File Clerks. Experience
with public contact, such as retail sales,
is also helpful, as is experience with word
processing software, spreadsheets, and electronic
billing systems.

Education/Training
Required
A
high school diploma is generally considered
sufficient for these jobs. Courses in typing
and word processing, as well as math, are
helpful.
Jobs
such as Claims Adjusters or Examiners often
require a college degree.
