TO: All One-Stop Career Centers Site Managers

SUBJECT: Timeliness of Services


Purpose of the Bulletin:

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform all One-Stop Career Center Site Managers that the goal of the WIA job seeker flow from Core A Self Directed Services (Universal) to Core B Staff Assisted Services to Intensive Services to Training Services is to not contain any unnecessary barriers, which would delay the provision of services while still complying with all statutory and regulatory eligibility criteria. The WIA job seeker flow is described in ACWIB Action and Information Bulletins.

Background:

Effective January 1, 2007, California Senate Bill (SB) 293 (Ducheny) imposes State-level requirements pertaining to WIA policies and procedures. SB 293 is the State of California WIA Authorizing Legislation. Each Local Workforce Investment Board must come into compliance under the law.


Action:

Effective immediately, One-Stop Career Center Site Managers will assure that there are no unnecessary delays to the provision of services while still complying with all statutory and regulatory eligibility criteria.
