TO: Youth Collaboratives, One-Stop Career Centers, Mandated Partners and Service Providers

SUBJECT: Grievance and Complaint Procedures


Purpose of Bulletin:

This bulletin provides current revisions to the Local Workforce Investment Board policy on grievance and complaint procedures.

Policy/Procedure/Definition:

The Workforce Investment Division, Employment Development Department has the responsibility to collect discrimination complaint logs from all Local Workforce Investment Areas. In order to comply with this requirement, we are requesting that the Youth Collaboratives and One-Stop Career Centers provide copies of all WIA related complaints to the Alameda County Civil Rights Officer. This new requirement has been added to the Grievance & Complaints Procedures Handbook in Section 2, Complaint Procedures, page 12 (bottom of page) under a special note:

Note: Copies of all discrimination complaints must be forwarded to the Alameda County Civil Rights Officer at the following address:

Section II – Complaints Procedures
Page 2, IIA.2b – new telephone numbers for the Civil Rights Officer and the Complaints Officer
Page 4, B – new address and telephone number for the Civil Rights Officer

Action:

The Youth Collaboratives and One-Stop Career Centers will comply with the new requirement of providing copies of all WIA related discrimination complaints to the Civil Rights Officer.
