ACTION BULLETINS (PY 2004)
AB – 42 Use of PY 2004/2005 Core B Funds for PY 2003/2004 Core B Participants
ACTION BULLETIN
TO: One-Stop Career Centers Site Managers
DATE: June 18, 2004
SUBJECT: Use of PY 2004/2005 Core B Funds for PY 2003/2004 Core B Participants
PURPOSE OF BULLETIN:
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide information and instructions regarding the use of PY 2004/2005 Core B Adult and Core B Dislocated Worker funds for PY 2003/2004 Core B Adults and Core B Dislocated Workers.
The one-stop career centers have received Core B adult and Core B dislocated worker funds as an integrated part of their PY 2004/2005 allocation. The number of Core B participants was calculated by dividing each Core B allocation by $1300. This method assumed a 100% success rate when in fact the current entered employment rate for adults is 75% and 82% for dislocated workers. Therefore, the one-stop career centers need a second method for earning the PY 2004/2005 Core B funds.
This Action Bulletin authorizes the centers to use PY 2004/2005 Core B funds to pay for the PY 2003/2004 Core B participants to the degree that it is available. The one-stop career centers will need to carefully monitor their use of the Core B funds throughout the year to assure that there are sufficient PY 2004/2005 funds to pay for the PY 2004/2005 Core B participants.
One-Stop Career Centers are not authorized to enroll any additional PY 2003/2004 Core B participants after June 30, 2004.
The PY 2003/2004 Core B adult and dislocated workers will be tracked separately in their own charts. A new count of PY 2004/2005 Core B adult and dislocated workers will be started July 1, 2004.
